ABOUT US

Positive Futures is a national social inclusion programme using sport and leisure activities to engage with disadvantaged and socially marginalised young adults. Managed through Crime Concern which is an independent, not-for-profit organisation and registered charity.

We aim to have a positive influence on young people's lives by widening horizons and providing access to new opportunities within a culturally familiar environment through the following objectives:

  • A clear focus on 10 to 19 year olds showing signs of disengagement
  • A sporting activity programme including participation, coaching and competitive elements with well defined links to mainstream sport
  • An intensive inclusion programme targeted at groups and individuals based around social responsibility, self awareness and drug prevention
  • An education and training programme as a pathway to positive attitudes and life styles, long term involvement in leisure activities and employment

“There are in excess of 150 youth projects which run in some of the worst affected areas of drug and anti social behaviour related crime in the country.”
